Tap dance was first seen in the United States in the late 19th century. The name comes from the tapping sound made when the small metal plates attached on the dancer's shoes touch a hard floor. Metal plates on Shoes crate a percussive sound and as such the dancers are considered to be musicians. In its solo form, tap dance often includes an improvised section that might be compared to a solo taken by a jazz drummer.
Tap dance also has its roots in African American dancing such as Juba Dance, English Clog dancing, and probably Irish step dancing. William Orlowski is one of the most famous Canadian tap dancer.
Aamir Khan also perform TAP Dance in Dhoom 3..
