A Piano also called Pianoforte is a musical instrument that operates with the help of a keyboard. It is played by depressing one or more key on the keyboard which caused a hammer to strike tuned strings (inside the piano instrument) that produce a sound of different pitch. The strings' vibration is stopped by dampers when the keys are released and can be regulated for length and volume by two or three pedals.
The standard modern piano contains 88 keys and has a compass of seven full octaves plus a few keys. It is made of protective wooden case surrounding the soundboard and metal strings.
